It's hard to believe that summer is over and school time is here. I mean, technically it's still 95 degrees outside, but you know. School.
So here are some of the highlights of our summer.
Owen sat in boxes and crates and such.
The girls had sleepovers in Claire's new big bed.
Nanny Faye read to Owen.
AK put on a little house on the prairie dress and goggles and a snorkel and played in the sprinkler.
I went on a girls weekend with friends from college. It was so refreshing. We stayed in a cabin and talked and tubed down the river and played nertz and stayed up late and even hiked a little.
The Coach and I went on a trip for our 10 year anniversary. We stayed in Blue Ridge and spent hours hiking and mountain biking. We ate fudge in the hotel room and hung out by the fire pit with other guests and got lost on our bikes on a mountain and got sort of attacked by a dog and hiked Blood Mountain and Amicalola Falls and ate at the best little country restaurant in the world. I love that man so much and I can't believe we've been married for a decade.
We took the kids to a water park.
Averi Kate went down the big slide...
and loved it.
Claire went down the big slide...
and was very angry when she got off.
We went to see Mary Poppins, the live musical. Claire wore winter gloves. It was magical.
We did yoga on the Wii.
And finally, as a perfect ending to our summer break, we took a trip up to Justice's house to celebrate her birthday on a big water slide.
Now bring on the fall.
