Fall 2019 Semester of SCHOOL!

We have had such a fantastic school year with our CC community this year. I'm sure I have a ton more photos but maybe this will be a good sampling to remember our school year so far...

Owen and Catherine on Tacky Day...

Claire's Foundations class with Mrs. Amy...

Claire's class performed Christmas songs on the tin whistle during open assembly!
(on pajama day, obviously)

This is my class - they are a trip!

AK and Owen are in Mrs. Marcela's class this year and they are loving it!

I'm pretty sure this was tacky day. At least I think it was.

Music theory...

Constructing and then shooting off bottle rockets!

Presentation time!

This is my fifth year tutoring Foundations, but my first tutoring Essentials. I have LOVED this component of our day - 2 hours of spreading the joy and passion of English grammar, math fluency, and writing with style and structure to 4th and 5th graders!!!

We even ended the semester with a special Essentials Christmas party at our house! These kids are so much fun to hang out with!

And an added bonus this year is that we as a community decided to meet an additional day of the week to have "Enrichment" - weekly Spanish lessons, PE class, and science/history projects! (Plus an occasional field trip.) It has been so much fun and such a blessing to all of our families.

Relay race for PE!

Teaching the big girls the science of baking...

Learning various ways to start a fire (plus some fire safety education, of course)...

Learning about how germs spread...

Yoga for PE on a rainy day!

Learning the Spanish words for articles of clothing...

Experimenting with solar heat...

Pumping iron in a circuit training PE class...

A special field trip to the helicopter landing at the hospital, and a talk with the medics...

I'm so thankful for our CC community - for both my kids and for myself!

And then there was Christmas.

Aaah, Christmas. The week leading up to it was extremely busy, but I was so thankful for a quiet Christmas Eve, complete with popcorn and a movie that night. Of course, the Coach had to get a little ride in on his trainer during The Grinch.

Owen was so excited on Christmas morning to find his favorite salad dressing in his stocking!!!

And my favorite nativity scene so far, reminding us all of the miracle. And how Joseph probably really was passed out on the floor after a night like that.

Plus a few other things.

 Owen, borrowing my book.

AK and Penny on the ping pong table. Because, why not?

Snuggling on the couch...

Thanksgiving with Dobby's family at the lake house...

And with my family at the Pickard house!

Summit's company Christmas party ended up in an intense cookie decorating contest.

The girls danced in The Nativity ballet.

Owen decided he wants to read through the book of Romans.

The kids sang in the Christmas night of worship.

A shopping spree at Gotwalls Book Store!

Always helping with Benaiah!

A Happy Birthday Jesus party...
