To begin with, we need to have a moment of silence in honor of the dumpster piano. When Spencer and I were first married and living in seminary housing in Wake Forest, we found this beauty in the dumpster behind our house. It was our very first piano, still in pretty good shape and fairly good tune, and it will always be very dear to our hearts. Recently Spencer's dad gave us his beautiful piano and so we felt compelled to pass this one on to one of Spencer's coworkers...but nothing will ever replace our first piano in our hearts. We love you, old friend!
The girls have been enjoying their trampoline with this beautiful spring weather. When they aren't jumping on it, they find other uses for it!
It's so much fun when Claire "reads" to Averi Kate!
Averi Kate's first night in her toddler bed...When we went to check on her before we went to bed, this is what we found...
Of course we picked her up and put her back in her bed. The next morning, this is how we found her.
The girls sort of have their own language, as in, Claire will make up terms
and AK will go along with them. For example, this afternoon Claire found
this random weird flimsy magic wand kind of a thing in a box of toys.
She exclaimed, "Look Averi Kate! I found your bean-bean!" To which Averi
Kate gasped and shouted with delight, "My bean-bean!!!" I guarantee
that thing has never been called a bean-bean before and probably never
will again.
Averi Kate now knows how to swing in the "big girl" swing!
