Oh, the Fair!

Oh, the fair. The most wonderful time of the year. We went twice this year and the girls had a blast.

Here the girls joined in with some live music from a little streetside band...

Rest stop with Dobby!

AK was not too sure about getting on this fake horse.

Cheese!

Another rest stop with Dobby :)

Everyone enjoyed the rides!

Averi "No Fear" Kate...

Cowgirl Claire...

There were all kinds of animals to see!

The second time we went, there was another band that we got to play with!

This picture right here pretty much sums up my life.

Coach listening to the very sad UGA game.

Claire got all dressed up to dance at the fair!

 (a little mid-performance yawn...)

Yay fair! We'll see you next year!

Convos.

Me (thinking that AK is chewing on something illegal): Averi Kate, what is in your mouth???
AK: Teeth.

Deep questions from Claire: How can you talk to Jesus when He died? I mean, like when they put Him in the tomb and everything, like before He came alive again, how can you pray to Him then?
<I don't know...>

C: Why do you wear contacts?
Me: Because my eyes don't work right.
C: Why? Because you're old?

C: Maybe we should take Grandma a granola bar.
Me: No, Grandma can't really eat granola bars.
C: Why?
Me: Because she doesn't have many teeth.
C: Why?
Me: Well when you get a lot older your teeth start to fall out.
C: Oh. Why do you still have teeth?

Claire's new favorite phrase is "I can't stand it." My favorite is when she uses it out of context, like this little number from supper last night: "I cannot stand these grapes. They are so good. I can't stand them."

Two Trips

Backtrack: Labor Day weekend, we took advantage of free admission to Callaway Gardens and we had a great day. Dobby, the Coach, the girls and I enjoyed a day of bike riding, picnic-ing, butterfly-ing, and putt-putt-ing.

The girls' first putt-putt experience.

Claire's happy face after she made her first hole-in-one.

(so proud)

AK was really good at sitting on the green.

Nearly 8 years ago was the last time I was at Callaway Gardens - and it was also the night the Coach asked me to marry him! Now here we are 8 years and 2 kiddos later!

The day wore AK out.

Trip #2: A couple of Fridays ago Spencer took a day off and we headed to Dauset Trail Nature Center.

The girls loved seeing the animals. Here is AK looking at the turtles...

Daddy's girls...

When Averi Kate gets super excited, she gets low.

The Coach might have coveted these goats. (Have I mentioned that he is a little bit obsessed with getting one?)

Love my girls!

After seeing all the animals and having a picnic, we went on a little hike.

Claire did great. She was tired at first but she was a trooper and soon got a second wind of energy.

Averi Kate decided to take her shoes off.

Fun times!
